This research is on the Lebanese Economic Crisis, which is the worst economic crisis in peace-time history when measured relative to GDP (World Bank). It came at the back of a stable 1,507.5 LBP/USD exchange rate since 1997 and has been an ongoing crisis without resolution in sight since 2019.
It delves into the reasons behind this crisis and the macroeconomic (monetary and fiscal) impacts of this crisis. At the end, we learn deep insights into the causes and lessons learned from this crisis.
