In the last few years there has been a large increase in work on macroeconomic issues and modelling for the South African economy. Nevertheless there have been too few attempts to step back and to survey the work that has been done in order to analyse whether the pieces of the puzzle can be made to fit together to provide a coherent picture. This workshop is being jointly hosted by the University of Pretoria, South Africa Reserve Bankd and Economic Research Southern Africa (ERSA).
