John M. Luiz is a Professor of International Management at the University of Sussex in the UK, and the Graduate School of Business (GSB) at the University of Cape Town, specializing in International Management Strategy; Business, Society, and Government; and Emerging Markets. Previously, he served as Director of International Relations at the GSB and was responsible for amongst other things international accreditation and international strategy and partnerships, and successfully took the School through AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA accreditation. Before that, he was a Professor at the Wits Business School and served in various capacities including as their Director of International Programmes and as Academic Director. He was Executive Dean of the Faculty of Management at the University of Johannesburg.
