Elsabé Loots is a Professor in Economics in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at the University of Pretoria. She completed a doctoral degree at Rand Afrikaans University (RAU, now University of Johannesburg) and held leadership position as the Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, University of Pretoria: 2012-2021. She specializes in development economics with particular emphasis on African economic development, capital flows, and globalization with recent interests in the fields of strategic redirection, accreditation, and the reimagining of higher education.
