Elizabeth has worked in the field of trade policy since 1996, when she joined the Directorate: International Trade in the then National Department of Agriculture.
In 2009, she was appointed Director: SADC in the Department of Trade and Industry. The position focused on SADC and SADC-EAC-COMESA Tripartite regional economic integration.
In December 2015 she was appointed Chief Director: Trade Policy & Research, in the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition. She holds degrees in Agricultural Economics from the Universities of Stellenbosch and Pretoria, as well as a Masters Degree in International and Development Economics from the University of Namur in Belgium.
