Economics Students Awards & Gallery

Every year, ERSA rewards economics students that excel in their studies. Prizes are given to the best economics students in South Africa. The motivation for this initiative is that in general, relative to accounting and finance related subjects, economics often has few prizes to award. Recognition for student performance is one of the key mechanisms departments have available in order to motivate students to continue with studies in economics.

To this end, ERSA is offering the following prizes for all universities in South Africa with an economics teaching programme. A monetary award for each year of study is proposed as follows:

  • R1000 for the second placed student
  • R1500 for the first placed student
