Umakrishnan Kollamparambil is a Professor in Economics at the University of the Witwatersrand with areas of research interest in migration, inequality, and wellbeing economics within the context of South Africa. He is the Head of School of SEF, and an associate editor of the journal, African Review of Economics and Finance (AREF). He obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
