Rob Garlick is an economist studying education and labor markets in developing economies and his current research focuses mainly on two areas: frictions in urban labor markets that distort job search and hiring decisions, and determinants of and returns to human capital investment decisions. He is currently an assistant professor in the Duke University Economics Department and an affiliate at the Poverty Action Lab. He previously worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the World Bank’s Development Research Group and studied at the University of Michigan and the University of Cape Town.
