Jason Hartford is currently on a post-doctoral at Mila and previously worked as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Witwatersrand lecturing Microeconomics and Econometrics. He obtained his doctorate at the University of British Columbia, and He is interested in leveraging structural assumptions about data-generating processes to make flexible machine-learning models generalize beyond the observed distribution of training data.
