Lisette IJssel de Schepper is Chief Economist at the Bureau for Economic Research (BER) at Stellenbosch University, where she leads the business and consumer survey suite and shapes the institute’s economic forecasts and narrative, with a deep focus on South African macroeconomic trends and global influences.
She holds a Master’s degree in Economics and a postgraduate diploma in Futures Studies (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University. She regularly provides insight on macroeconomic trends, policy developments and the structural challenges influencing growth, investment and confidence in South Africa’s evolving economic landscape.
