Mare Sarr is an associate professor of international affairs and African studies at the School of International Affairs. He was previously an associate professor in the School of Economics and was the director of the Environmental Policy Research Unit at the University of Cape Town. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from University College London, His research interests include environmental and natural resource economics, institutional change and development, and political economy.
