Christie Swanepoel is a senior lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, South Africa. She obtained her doctorate degree from Stellenbosch University and her research is mainly focused on economic history, with a specialization in financial history and macroeconomic history. She’s also involved in research on the long-term development of education in South Africa.
