Professor Roula Inglesi-Lotz is a researcher in energy economics and environmental policy, specializing in the socio-economic impacts of energy systems, the just energy transition, and policy design. She is a Professor at the Department of Economics of the University of Pretoria, with an extensive publication record in top academic journals and significant contributions to the field through research and editorial leadership.
She holds a C1 NRF rating and has received the 2024 HERS-SA Higher Education Women Leaders Award and the SANEA Upliftment through Education Award. She serves as Vice President for Membership and Affiliate Affairs at the International Association for Energy Economics and co-leads the UP EMS Energy Economics Research Unit (EERU).
