Katrien Smuts is currently doing her Masters in Economics after completing Economics Honours degree in 2015, at the University of Stellenbosch. She has a wide range of interests and therefore enjoys the fact that in the Economics field, many of these interests come together and can be explored in more depth. Her research interest lies mostly in Competition Policy, Development Economics and more recently in Monetary Economics with special focus on Central Bank Communication.

She would like to be an expert in the field of research and in the process make a positive contribution to South Africa’s economic challenges.
