Kagiso Molefe

Kagiso Molefe completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Economics (cum laude) at the North West University in 2014. In 2013 he graduated with a Bachelor of Administration in Economics from the North West University.

For the duration of Honours, Kagiso was funded by National Treasury and he was also awarded a NWU bursary for obtaining exceptional results during his final year.

Kagiso is currently a postgraduate student undertaking a Masters in Economics at North-West University. During the years of studies he was furthermore working as a graduate assistant at the North-West University from 2013 to 2014, firstly appointed by department of Public Administration then later by the department of Economics. Subsequent to his Honours he joint National Treasury of South Africa as an intern where he was involved in analyzing provincial budgets.

His research interests include time-series analysis, fiscal policy, Macroeconomics and econometric modeling, with the research topic being “Multivariate analysis of government budget deficit and economic growth in South Africa: An econometric approach” employing the Vector Error Correction Modelling (VECM)

Kagiso’s goal after graduation is to pursue his PhD in Economics and also practice as an economic researcher and analyst precisely focusing on developing and evaluating economic policies and issues.
