Malikah completed her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Economics with distinction at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2014. She was awarded the Wits Post-Graduate Merit award towards the completion of her Honours degree. In 2013, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science with majors in Economic Science and Mathematics. She was awarded the Genesis Analytics Prize (2013) for placing in the top 5 students completing 3rd year Economics at the University of the Witwatersrand. Malikah was admitted to the Golden Key International Honours Society in 2011.
Malikah’s research interests lie in the fields of microeconomics, financial economics and time-series econometrics. Econometric modelling and empirical data analysis are key areas of focus in her research undertakings.
Following the completion of her Masters degree, Malikah intends on pursuing a career in the private sector (South Africa) in the banking, consulting or insurance divisions. She also has an interest in the formulation of models, using methods such as regression analysis and game theory, in the explanation of economic happenings and the projection of economic trends and their potential effects on economic development. Malikah intends on pursuing a career in this field internationally.Awaiting information.
