Ian Stuart is currently on a research sabbatical from the National Treasury, where he was head of the Budget Office and the Fiscal Policy Unit. Ian is also a research fellow at Stellenbosch University, and was a member of the International Monetary Fund’s technical advisory panel on public finance management. Ian’s interests include measurement of fiscal sustainability and the interaction between monetary and fiscal policy.
