This course will cover selected topics in the economics of education. Potential topics include empirical evidence on the human capital and signalling models of education, estimating and understanding peer effects in education, and the effectiveness of teacher performance pay. The course will focus on recent applied research, and each lecture will involve a discussion of one or two recent papers.
