As we continue to promote the discussion and development of economic policy in Southern Africa, we support the Brookings Institution in disseminating their Foresight Africa 2023 Report. Our panel of discussants will reflect on this flagship Africa Growth Initiative Report and link it to their experience in Southern Africa.

Every year this report reflects on hindsight and captures the top policy priorities for the African region in the upcoming year. In this way it provides scope for expanding and refining development policy in Africa. Emerging from the Covid-19 pandemic, Southern Africa, like Africa, has entered an environment of global uncertainty, high inflation, and high debt levels all of which are straining economic growth and development going forward. As African states look to overcome their challenges and embrace new opportunities, we invite you to join a conversation about Africa’s development prospects.
