Richard graduated at the North West University (NWU) – Vaal Triangle Campus in 2015 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and International Trade, thereafter he enrolled for a B.Com (Honours) in economics which he then graduated Cum Laude in 2016. While he was busy with his B.Com (Honours) in Economic, Richard was appointed by the Department of economic sciences at NWU as a supplementary instructor (student tutor) and a marker for international trade, facilitating extra classes for first-year economics students and grading second-year international trade students.

Richard is currently busy with his Masters in Economics at the North West University (NWU) – Vaal Triangle Campus, and the Department of economic sciences at NWU has appointed him for a teaching assistant position. He teaches a class of first-year economics students, while working on paving his career path as a professional academic. Richard’s research interests includes; time-series analysis, econometric modelling, macro-economics, economic and industrial development. His Mcom research topic is “The impact of manufacturing and its sub-sectors on GDP and employment in South Africa: A Time-series analysis”. Furthermore, Richard is passionate about writing and research, this was reflected in his economics honours research project, where he obtained the highest mark in his class. The research project is currently submitted to an academic journal for publication.

Richard is motivated by his love for learning and succeeding, as he strives to become an eminent economist. He has a keen interest in economics and a deep-rooted passion for development. Upon completion of his Master’s degree, Richard intends to enroll for a PhD in Economics, with an intention of accumulating immerse knowledge in devising economic panaceas for economic and socio-economic predicaments inhibiting sustainable growth and development in developing countries.
