Leoné Walters is a Masters in Economics student at the University of Pretoria. Since high school, Leoné has been intrigued by economics and obtained the Award for Top Achiever in Economics for Matric, District Tshwane South. She completed both her Undergraduate and Honours degree, cum laude, and attained an Advanced Certificate in Emerging Markets and Country Risk analysis from Fordham University, New York.
Leoné received numerous academic accolades throughout her university career and is part of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Notably, she received the Deans List Award for Academic Excellence, the Award for Extraordinary achievement in Statistics and the Award for Top Achiever in Economics (first and final year).
Leoné has a keen interest in both macro- and microeconomics, in particular international trade and CGE modelling. Improving South Africa’s economy with her knowledge and skills is a great aspiration of Leoné.
